A Message from the Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association

Bienvenidos

We welcome you to attend the Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association's Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 2007!  This year is particularly noteworthy as we celebrate the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta's 23nd Anniversary.  Our theme "Family, Culture and Community" encourages people of all backgrounds and ages to join us for a healthy dose of culture, food and fun at the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.  This year the event kicks off at Tom McCall's Waterfront Park in Portland , Oregon on Thursday, May 3th through Sunday, May 6th.

Direct from Guadalajara , the ever-popular Grupo Folklorico de Guadalajara and the Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara will join us for the four-day Fiesta bringing folkloric dance, music and color to our Main Stage three times a day.

Additional features for this year's Cinco de Mayo Fiesta include:

  • Three stages of first-class entertainment representing a variety of music, dance and folklore
  • The Plaza de Artesanos  where we will have Mexico-based and local artisans demonstrating their craft and selling their wares onsite
  • The Plaza de Ninos featuring an area for kids that will include several pinata breakings, face painting, and other child-friendly entertainment
  • The wonderful tastes of a variety of different food vendors
  • A Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Grand Opening Ceremony on Thursday, May 4th
  • A full service amusement carnival featuring games and rides for your enjoyment

So please join us at the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and bring your friends and family to share in this wonderful fun-filled event, unique to Portland , Oregon!
